Western NC is the renowned Banner Elk Winery.
Set amongst 20 beautifully preserved acres, the

The Banner Elk Winery opened in 2006 and has
since produced excellent wines including Sevval
Blanc, Chardonnay, Banner Elk White, Nouveau
Francesco, Banner Elk Red, and Cabernet
Sauvignon. The Cabernet variety one the Double
Gold Medal at the NC State Fair in 2006, making
it a highly celebrated year. Dr. Dick Wolfe is
the winery’s renowned vintner, and with the help
of Dede Walton, he leads wine tastings,
educational tours and wine instructions on the
various steps and processes it takes to make the
