While enjoying

available locally. There are several options for
rock climbing within a short
driving distance from most of our
Blue Ridge
Vacation Cabins.
 There are a
few guided options available for rock climbing in the High
Country. The first of these options is the Tower
at Footsloggers, a wooden structure that is 35
feet in height with multiple routes from
beginner climbs to more advanced routes. The
Tower is a great option for those who are
inexperienced or have never climbed outdoors
before. Rental equipment is available, so this
is a feasible option for those who have not
already made an investment in rock climbing
apparel but want to take advantage of what NC
rock climbing has to offer. Employees generally
belay climbers and give helpful tips as well as
impart knowledge on climbing safety.
Rock Dimensions also offers guided trips to
outdoor locations such as Crowders Mountain
State Park, Pilot Mountain State Park, and
Linville Gorge and Wilson Creek areas in the
Pisgah National Forest. Trips are comprised of
small groups and offer instruction, climbing,
belaying, and rappelling opportunities. Rock

climbing locations near the High Country as
well. Ship Rock is a gorgeous exposed cliff just
off the Blue Ridge Parkway. Table Rock is
located just a short drive away, and has a
number of popular routes to climb, and Looking
Glass is yet another favorite spot for local
climbers to get out and enjoy a day of NC rock
climbing. The Blue Ridge Mountains offer
great places for everyone of all skill levels
and experience. Remember, rock climbing is

precautions.
